Using SourceLedger: These terms govern your use of SourceLedger. By using the service, you agree to these terms. If you do not agree, please do not use it.

Lawful use: Use SourceLedger only for lawful purposes. Do not use it to commit or facilitate illegal acts, infringe copyright or other rights, invade privacy, harass people, submit unlawful content, distribute malware, disrupt the service, or gain unauthorized access to systems or accounts. You are responsible for your submissions and your use of the results. Submit only material you have the right to provide and authorize us to process.

An investigation aid: SourceLedger uses automated retrieval, third-party sources and AI models to investigate factual assertions. Reports may contain mistakes, fabricated statements, missing context, outdated information or incorrect conclusions. A confidence value is a model assessment, not a guarantee. Independently verify important findings before relying on or sharing them. The service does not provide professional legal, medical, financial or other advice.

Public reports: Completed investigations are automatically published, including their titles, summaries, extracted claims and final judgments. Do not submit confidential material, secrets or personal information you are not authorized to disclose. You retain any rights you hold in your submissions and grant us permission to process and store them and to generate, display and distribute the resulting public reports as needed to operate the service. Third-party material remains subject to its owners' rights.

Accounts and third parties: Protect your Google account and OpenRouter API key. You are responsible for charges incurred through your own provider account. External models, search engines, source websites, advertisements and other third-party services operate under their own terms. Links, citations and advertisements are not endorsements. See our Privacy Notice for information about data handling.

NO WARRANTIES: To the fullest extent permitted by applicable law, SourceLedger and its reports are provided AS IS and AS AVAILABLE, without express or implied warranties, including warranties of merchantability, fitness for any particular purpose and non-infringement. We do not guarantee accuracy, completeness, reliability, availability, security, uninterrupted operation, preservation of data or suitability for any particular use.

LIMITATION OF LIABILITY: To the fullest extent permitted by applicable law, the operators and contributors of SourceLedger will not be liable for losses arising from your use of, reliance on, or inability to use the service or its reports, including indirect, incidental, consequential, special or punitive damages, lost profits, lost data or reputational harm. Nothing in these terms excludes or limits liability, warranties or consumer rights that applicable law does not allow to be excluded or limited.

Service changes and misuse: We may change or discontinue features, restrict access, or remove content to operate and protect the service, address misuse or comply with law. Keep your own copies of information you need. We may update these terms by posting a revised version with a new date, subject to any notice or consent requirements imposed by applicable law.
